Nev Schulman is the host and executive producer of MTV's Catfish: The TV Show. He was chosen as the 2020-2021 celebrity ConversationaLIST honoree for the Social Impact category to celebrate his exceptional work as a creator, activist, and changemaker.
You might also know Nev from his time on Dancing With The Stars, where he recently placed 2nd, but he’s also made a profound social impact in many different ways. On his social media platforms, he has supported clean water infrastructure for those who need it, as well as several animal rights charities and organizations, as he continues to inspire our generation.
During his panel, Nev spoke about his personal struggles to find the best way to help society progress in a positive direction. He and his wife have been discussing the best way to use their platforms to start conversations and reach others. “It can feel super overwhelming sometimes,” he said. “It can be difficult to find where to start or if there is even a way to start.”
Overall, he suggested that people looking to use their platforms should lean into what matters to them. “When something means something to you and you feel like you want to learn more, those are the issues that other people are struggling with,” He said.
